Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). They are trained to provide one-on-one behavioral intervention services to individuals, primarily children, with autism and other developmental disorders. The RBT works under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and is responsible for implementing behavior plans crafted by the supervising analyst.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Possessing advanced knowledge in behavior-analytic theories and practices, a BCBA conducts assessments, designs intervention plans, and supervises their implementation to address communicational, social, and behavioral challenges. Their expertise is pivotal in crafting individualized ABA strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities, primarily those with autism, ensuring that these interventions promote meaningful changes in their quality of life. To achieve the BCBA designation, candidates must meet specific educational and experiential prerequisites, and successfully pass a rigorous examination administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
